Vision BASIC v1.1 – Significant Upgrade – Commodore 64 Compiler

Some of the key updates and improvements in this version include:

  • Support for GeoRAM as a replacement for REU, providing expanded RAM necessary for running Vision BASIC.
  • Compatibility with battery-backed GeoRAM variants (e.g. NeoRAM) to store C64 RAM copies, ensuring instant access to Vision BASIC and loaded programs.
  • New commands in the add-on pack for utilizing GeoRAM memory in custom programs.
  • Availability of a custom NeoRAM cartridge for purchase as part of the Vision BASIC package.
  • Enhanced default editor colors in Vision BASIC.
  • Improved compile speeds when compiling on a C64 and C128 in C64 mode.
  • Addition of new commands like GSAVE, CATCH, ALLMOBS, DEF, POLL, LABEL, and improvements to existing commands.
  • Introduction of a new format for user-defined commands to enhance assembly language programming.
  • Various updates to prevent data loss, improve program compilation, and enhance user experience for C64 and PAL users.
  • Ability to have variable names of unlimited length, provided they fit on a single program line.
  • Inclusion of a command index in the Vision BASIC manual.
  • Added support in the BUTTON command for programming 2-button and 3-button game controllers like joysticks and gamepads.
