Unearthed 2024 Set to Release Both Physically and Digitally – Celebrating Retro Faith

GB title Unearthed 2024 secures physical and digital release

At Retro Faith, we have a special place in our hearts for Game Boy games, especially when they get a physical cartridge release. Renowned Game Boy developers Gumpy Function and Ben Jelter have partnered with Limited Run Games to bring Unearthed 2024 to fans as a physical release available for pre-order until August 25, 2024. For those who miss out, the game ROM can still be purchased digitally to use on emulators and SD-card carts.

Unearthed 2024 is compatible with original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Analogue Pocket. Physical purchases also come with a complimentary ROM, and a demo is available for those who want to try before they buy.

This game is an updated version of the original 2021 release, which won the GBCOMPO21 Game Jam. Set in a dystopian future where Earth’s resources have been depleted, players take on the role of Max as they explore planets, navigate treacherous caverns, and solve puzzles to collect mineral resources for their family. With hundreds of levels to progress through, players can earn achievements and aim for better scores, enhancing replay value.
