Atari 7800+ launching later this year – Retro Faith

Plaion and Atari have announced the upcoming release of a modern version of the Atari 7800 console, set to launch worldwide on November 29, 2024, priced at £99.99. This new console has been developed using advanced technology to faithfully recreate the original Atari 7800 experience.

The Atari 7800+ will include a wireless gamepad, the CX 78+, and will feature modern conveniences such as HDMI output and USB power. It will also be compatible with original Atari 2600 and 7800 cartridges. In addition to the console, Plaion and Atari will release two new controllers, the CX40+ Wireless Joystick and the CX78+ Wireless Gamepad, on the same day as the Atari 7800+ launch.

On the release date, six new Atari 7800+ games will be available, including Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest, Asteroids Deluxe, Berzerk, Bounty Bob Strikes Back, Frenzy, and Space Duel. Four new Atari 2600+ games will also be released, including Caverns Of Mars, RealSports Collection, Epyx Games, and M-Network Collection.
