Tiny Pixels Vol. 1 – Ninpo Blast Switch review – Retro Faith

We previously reported on Tiny Pixels Vol. 1 – Ninpo Blast, the latest game from indie studio Eastasiasoft, known for retro-style budget indie games. Now, we present our review of the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Tiny Pixels Vol. 1 – Ninpo Blast was released on 14th August 2024 for Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is a vertically-scrolling shoot ‘em up with tight controls, well-designed levels, and a retro feel. The graphics feature pixel art and the sound is reminiscent of 80s arcade games.

Although the game lacks a complex storyline, it makes up for it with enjoyable gameplay and upgrade systems. With randomly generated enemies and rogue-lite elements, Ninpo Blast offers replayability for fans of retro shoot ‘em ups. While not the best on the Switch, it is a fun and nostalgic experience, especially for those who enjoyed Z-Warp.

Overall, Tiny Pixels Vol. 1 – Ninpo Blast is worth a try for fans of classic shoot ‘em ups. If you appreciate retro gaming, you’ll have a blast with this game. We can’t wait to see what the next volume of Tiny Pixels has in store!
