Retro Faith aims to cover a wide range of retro gaming formats, but the Amstrad CPC doesn’t come up often. However, with Lord Sugar’s plans for an Amstrad Museum website and the upcoming release of the Street Fighter 2-inspired Mighty Street Fighter by GGP, it seems that exciting things are happening in the Amstrad world.
GGP announced Mighty Street Fighter some time ago, and now they have confirmed that the game will be available as a downloadable ROM in December on their itch.io page. A cartridge version is also in the works but has been delayed. The game draws inspiration from Street Fighter 2 and SNK Vs. Capcom, aiming to showcase the capabilities of the humble CPC.
Stay tuned for the release of Mighty Street Fighter in December to see if GGP has succeeded in making the Amstrad CPC pack a punch. If you enjoy RetroFaith.net, consider subscribing for extra content and exclusive features for just £1 a month, with all funds going towards website upkeep.
