Earlier this week, we shared information about Tetris Forever, the latest entry in Digital Eclipse’s Gold Master series. Revealed at Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Tetris Forever will feature over 90 minutes of documentary featurettes exploring the friendship between Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov and The Tetris Company founder Henk Rogers. In addition to the documentaries, the game will include more than 15 playable Tetris games, some of which are being released outside of Japan for the first time. One of the new games, Tetris Time Warp, allows up to four players to warp between different eras of Tetris in real-time.
Tetris Forever will be available on PC via Steam and GOG, as well as on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, and Xbox One and Series X|S later this year. The game pays homage to the classic 1989 Game Boy version of Tetris, and we hope to see new versions of Tetris for years to come.
