Exciting news for both the Amiga and Arcade communities, a new game announcement has been made! ‘Elevator Action’ by Taito Corp from the 1980s is being converted to the Commodore Amiga thanks to JOTD. This conversion is part of a series of Arcade to Amiga conversions by the same creator behind games like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Phoenix, and Moon Patrol 500. Check out some early development footage of the game below.
Details from the game’s first announcement and today’s update reveal, “Small video of my new WIP game: Elevator Action. ATM I’m targetting AGA so I can use wide sprites for the elevators & dual playfield for fast sprite / playfield separation, but a OCS version is also planned. AGA will ensure that the games runs perfectly at 50 FPS. For ECS, it will need more tricks but it will run too. (The intro would run on ECS too, no need for AGA there). The game is now playable (still gfx/color issues but logic OK)”.
