Indie Retro News: Hydrogenese – Classic Game Unearthed After 35 Years, Teased for Commodore 64!

Indie Retro News: Hydrogenese - A game missing for 35 years appears as a preview for the Commodore 64!

Get ready to play test another unreleased game called ‘Hydrogenese’ thanks to our friends at GamesThatWeren’t. Developed by X-Ample, this space shooter was described as a brilliant early look at what could have been an amazing game. The original game was part of a contest by the disk magazine “Game On” but was never finished in time. However, a preview of the game, showing the stone level, was recovered after 35 years.

Various elements of the game were split up and used in other games like Tales of Boon, Darksword, Greystorm, Parsec, and Hyper Aggressive. Parts of the shooter and platformer elements have been recovered and added to the download thanks to CBA/SCS-TRC.
