The adventure game Geo’s Quest Gateway to Nowhere for the Commodore Amiga has been made available by GWI through Itch-io. In this game, players take on the role of George Angus as he navigates the era of 90’s computing. The developer mentions that years and thousands of hours were invested in the story, coding, graphics, and music. A buggy version of the game was uploaded to Aminet in 2002 and has been floating around since then.
The game has been reworked, repaired, and completed with over 100 hand-drawn rooms, puzzles, tasks, and samples to enhance gameplay. It was developed using the GRAC2 adventure game engine by Edmond Clay. Some graphics, mods, and samples were taken from the AMOS PD Library and had to be reworked to fit the GRAC2 environment.
The game requires any Amiga or emulated Amiga with 2mb chip ram and 2.04 Rom with 18mb free hard drive space. It is recommended to have at least 1.5mb chip ram free to play the game. Additionally, any Amiga with 2mb chip ram, 2.04 Rom, ‘020/greater CPU, and 18mb free hard drive space is recommended.
