Indie Retro News: Dracula Story

Indie Retro News enjoys covering Atari XL/XE games, such as the Prince of Persia port and the enhanced version of Auf Wiedersehen Monty. A new addition to this lineup is Grevle’s Arcade game “Dracula Story,” which has been highlighted by our friend Saberman. Along with the game release, Saberman has created a video showcasing the final 1.7 version of the game.

Dracula Story for Atari XL/XE offers diverse gameplay mechanics like jumping over obstacles, battling enemies, and transforming into a bat to defeat a sinister priest. The game pays homage to classic Atari 2600/7800 titles with 80s-style graphics and sound effects.

Version 1.7 Developer Notes:

  • Implemented a color data switch for the girl player, resulting in a red heart above her. Dracula’s heart remains the same, as it shares color data with Dracula himself. The game design reflects Dracula’s cold heart!
