Aero the Acro-Bat 2: A Review

Review: Aero the Acro-Bat 2

Season of Aero, boys. You know the drill.

Yes, I’m going to attempt to review all the Aero the Acro-Bat re-issues. Why? Because he deserves it. The series has been unfairly labeled as substandard, but some games are pretty good. This review aims to shed light on these games and break the stereotypes. Let’s dive in.

Aero 2 introduces improved controls and new mechanics, making gameplay more fluid and enjoyable. The opening stage, The Belfry, is fun with hidden secrets and a likable main character. However, the game takes a dip in gameplay with slow-paced activities like the shell game and monotonous snowboarding levels. Despite these setbacks, Aero 2 still offers a decent platforming experience, albeit with a darker and less vibrant atmosphere compared to its predecessor.

The emulation package offers cheat options and additional content like concept art and manuals. Overall, Aero 2 is a solid platformer that may not rival the Marios and Sonics of the world, but still provides entertainment value. Give it a try if you’re looking for a nostalgic gaming experience.
